James Tanner Stockwell

U.S. Veteran

James Tanner Stockwell, Marshfield, MO, son of Charles Edward and Rhoda Belle (Harris) Stockwell , was born June 28, 1931 in Hamilton, Missouri and departed this life February 12, 2013 at his home. At the time of his passing he was 81 years of age.

James drove a feed truck for feed companies for many years and served our country in the United States Army.

He was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Rhoda Belle Stockwell, three brothers, Bud Stockwell, Frank Stockwell, Charles Stockwell, and one sister, Vernie Hamphill.

Survivors include his wife Joann of the home, four daughters; Catherine Stockwell, Sparta, MO, Elizabeth (Liz) Reider, Buffalo, MO, Vonda Herman and Earnest, Springfield, MO, and Betty Lynn Hoskins and Keith, Marshfield, MO, three sons; James Stockwell, Larry Stockwell and Susan, all of Loveland, Colorado, and Tommy Stockwell and Donna, Springfield, MO, sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way, one sister, Judy Kutcher, the state of Oregon.

Services for James Tanner Stockwell will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, MO. Burial will be in Marshfield Cemetery, Marshfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice and left in care of the funeral home.
