Lavern Archie Jones, son of Archie and Emma (Mace) Jones was born March 15, 1925, in Mullinville, Kansas and departed this life March 1, 2013, at his home in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years.

He was united in marriage to Ruby Dean Ward September 25, 1949. They were blessed with five children.

Lavern proudly served his county in the United States Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Michele Thoms in 1992; son-in-law, Marvin Thoms; two brothers, Everett and Ernest Jones; and two sisters, Nola Berns and Lola Lawson.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Ruby of the home; three daughters, Joyce Thoms of Strafford, Janice Dugan and Justina Savas and Bill all of Marshfield; two sons, Ward Jones and Angie of Marshfield and Donald Jones and Toni of Seymour; 9 grandchildren, Rodney, Shannon, Richard Kyle, Staci, Michael, Bradley, Mandy, Kyliegh and Kelliegh; 21 great grandchildren; two brothers, Laughn Jones and Louise of Kansas and Leon Jones of Springfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 6, 2013 at Faith Southern Baptist Church Marshfield, Missouri under the direction of Day Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday March 5, 2013, in the funeral home chapel.
